Baptism

Baptism

Through baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God. By baptism we become members of Christ and his church. It is the beginning of our relationship with God and the beginning of life in Christ which is fully realized in eternity. Baptism is also the gateway to life in the Spirit. It is the means through which we gain access to the other sacraments.

Preparation sessions for parents with infants to 6 year old children are necessary and are offered throughout the year. This is a one-time session and sponsors are also welcome to attend if desired. Contact  Deacon Dan by email (or phone 724-327-0647) well in advance of the birth of your child to make an appointment and schedule the baptism.

Godparents play an important role in witnessing the faith. Learn more about the role and requirements to be a Godparent or sponsor by click the buttons at the top of the page.

Parents with children 7 years of age or older in need of baptism, or adults wishing to get baptized, please contact the Parish Office to learn more about that process or visit the page about becoming Catholic.
